I’m Jack and I was a drummer for over 10 years, for half of my life. I loved nothing more than I loved drumming. It was my everything, my community, my art, my passion, and the source of my confidence.
BUT… day after day, I played the drums with inadequate hearing protection & slowly destroyed my ears. I developed tinnitus, which means that my ears ring 24/7. It’s loud, annoying, & painful. Its drives me crazy, makes it hard to focus & hard to sleep. It has cost my family thousands of dollars to treat but is chronic and will never go away.
The tinnitus got so bad that I developed hyperacusis, a condition that makes the perception of sound feel physically painful. That ended my drumming career, and I was heartbroken. I still am- I lost drumming and I’ll never get it back.

All that pain drives me. It gives me purpose…
Over half of all drummers will develop tinnitus. 1.1 billion young people are at risk of getting hearing damage at live events. Over 750 million people worldwide already have tinnitus and this will only get worse with increasing exposure to high-volume electronics & loud environments.
Stik Buds is my way of channeling my pain into something positive so that no one will have go through what I have been through. Stik Buds is an earplug product that was created with musicians' needs, wants, behaviors, and beliefs in mind. It was created BY musicians FOR musicians.
It’s too late for me. My ears will ring & sting for the rest of my life, but it’s not too late for millions of musicians or for you. Stik Buds exists to make exceptional hearing protection accessible for all and prevent auditory damage at all costs.
